Dorian felt it as he was being lifted off of the ground, smiling at the fact that all of them were working together. Like most people should, and not just leave each other alone. He liked being in a group, it made him feel more safe. More secure. Definitely better to be in a group of powerful Rebmevons than alone, right?
"So then, Takei, I think once I get my powers back, I should be able to help you. It won't be hard, I'll just have to look in your memory," he said with a smile. "Trust me, it'll be fine," he stated. He didn't want to scare the boy into thinking it would hurt, because it wouldn't. He'd be fine, and then...
...
What were they going to do after? They couldn't all stay at Takei's house, so they'd all have to leave. But what if someone got captured by the Rekarts? Now knowing all of them, Dorian would want to go back to help them, which might lead to him being captured as well. It was too damn confusing; they would probably need to make a plan. "Hey, so what happens when I do get my powers back? Are we all just gonna leave? Cause frankly, I think the Rekarts might come after us," he said simply.
"Think about it. We're all powerful Rebmevons--excluding Takei, for now at least--and who knows what they might do. Should we just stick together... maybe go our seperate ways?" He sighed, shaking his head. He realized that they had reached the house, and he was grateful that no Rekarts had stopped them on the way. Who knows what could've happened if the Rekarts found them? "Cause I personally think we should stick together, at least until we know that the Government is away from here."
A small smile appeared on the girlish boy's face. Blue eyes shimmering like jewels, he giggled, never before laughing in his entire life. This was the first.
So this was what it was like to be happy, eh? Well, he liked it.
Smiling over to Dorian, he nodded his head, agreeing with him.
"Yes, I also think that we should stick together. I don't know much, but I'm sure it's pretty hard to fight off the Rekarts alone. With our powers combined, they'll be no match for us!"
He giggled again, liking his optimistic way. Always being pessimistic never really got you anywhere, now did it? Turning to Takei, he paused, looking down and blushing.
"U-um, of course...if thats a-alright with, um, y-you."
His big eyes darted up to meet Takei's face. Everything depended on him. Seth had no right to make decisions for everyone.
Melanthius simply nods in responds to Takei's 'thank you'. As they made there way back to the suburbs Thius continues to help with Dorian since he was still unable to move. And so ponders on the thought that Dorian pointed out,
Staying together?
He thought, though there were some problems he just felt that he felt the needed to point out.
"Ugh yes. It can be quite an advantage if we stick together yet there are problems to it. See if we stay together it'll be easier to locate and capture us all at once. However our strengths will increase.. I'm just saying here. Ever since I arrived here I always tried in keeping a low profile in order to avoid the the Rekart and it's been working."
Thius said rather hesitantly, he didn't want to say yes but he didn't want to say no.
'Strength in numbers,'
Was the concept that lingered in the back of his head.
"Alright. I'll try to set up sleeping arrangements for everyone.", Takei murmered, sighing a bit.
Where were they to sleep?
He only had his small bed, a couch, and space amoungst the floor.
He turned his head away quickly, in response the the trigger switch of personalities.
"He's only saying yes because at the moment, I didn't have a say in it. But I don't care. I advise you to quit whatever jobs you have, and pay off your houses, or however you live, for now. I'll be the one to go out and get things. Since you're all wanted or something, you shouldn't go out for a while."
He glanced toward the group, as he began to unlock his door, pulling Dorian inside.
"Its huge, isn't it?"
Staying inside.
The thought rested uneasily with Ara.
It almost sounded like a sentence.
Plus, here without sunshine wasn’t the best.
She followed Dorian and Takei inside glancing around.
And they were supposed to fit how many people in here?
She sighed walking over to the window and looking out of it.
It was a pretty good view.
“We may be easier to find, but stronger in numbers.” She said to the window, replying to Thius.
Ara turned to face the group again.
“If you guys find it necessary, I’ll stay up and keep watch.” She shrugged. “They seem pretty hot on our trail.”
Her eyes wandered over to Dorian and his still numbed body.
What had they shot into him?
Closing the blinds she leaned against the wall still deep in thought.
Staying inside…
As Takei opened the door, all Dorian could do was blink at the size. This big? There were five people here; how were they all suppose to fit inside this small house?! He could only imagine at least one person staying, and not this many. Well, it wouldn't really matter where Dorian slept; he couldn't feel anything now. Maybe he'd stay on the floor, seeing as though he wouldn't be able to tell from sleeping on a bed to sleeping on the floor.
"A job?" he asked, turning his head to look at the small Rebmevon. "That'll be easy enough; I don't have a real 'job'. I paint, so I just paint things on the street and people pay me. A bit weird, but it gives you money," he said with a shrug. Well, at least that was easy enough, since it might be a problem if the others had real jobs. Just randomly quitting would be a bit of a problem--
Wait.
Why would they have to quit?
"Hey, can't they just say they're going on vacation?" he asked suddenly. "I mean, if you think about it, just quitting randomly might sound weird. I'd say just stick with the job for now, you know? If the Rekarts realize you quit, they might know we're up to something," he added quietly. "Now then... how are we gonna all sleep in here?"
The man's mind lingered off as he enters the room, still helping Dorian stand, and gazes around,
"Yea, I suppose. Safety in numbers,"
Thius responds, mumbling underneath his breath, repeating himself a few more times rather silently.
Nodding to what Takei said about quitting his job, the man quickly responses,
"I'm afraid that's impossible for me. I can't quit my job, then again it's not really going to pose as a problem if I continue or not. It's one of those 'work at home' kind of thing. Besides I have bills to pay."
Quit my job? No thanks. I need booze money as well.. besides I need to feed Myu-yuu.
Concluding it would be rather cramped for all five of them to inhabit such a small room. Thius had a thought that maybe perhaps he could just stay home.
"Well I live not too far from this place. Since things look rather crowded here I wouldn't mind staying home, even take a couple of people or something,"
Thius said with a shrug.
Today, has definitely topped his own personal charts of being the most unusual day ever. The reality of the struggle between Rebmevon and Rekart was just beginning. And just seeing the condition Dorian was put in by the Rekart was just astonishing in how immobile it placed him. Now the question that teased his mind the most was,
Could we really resist the Rekart?
"It doesn't matter what you want to do. Go home, then. I wasn't ordering you to quit your jobs, I suggested it. After all, I'd be paying for you all to eat and such.", Takei narrowed his eyes.
Rubbing his head he glanced over to Thius.
"But besides that, I don't prefer to have booze in the house. Sorry. Feel free to do whatever you want, not that I have a say in it."
"I'll still be working, but I'll probably have to get a better job, if staying with me. I was only suggesting it because I thought it'd be safer. If you're working, and someone attacks, you won't have help to defend yourself.", the small rebmevon, with mediocre skills looked downward.
After a few moment, he jolted forward.
"Fucking shit! I forgot to call in sick to work!", he shrieked, jumping over the couch clumbsily, dialing the phone number for the manager at publix.
Ara watched the others as they scrambled around.
She had always hopped from job to job anyway.
Quitting the current one wouldn’t break her little heart.
“They can’t take too much time off. It’ll look bad.” She ran a hand through her hair.
This was too stressful.
“Takei, you don’t have to do all the work. We can all pitch in since we’ll be crashing here.”
It didn’t seem right for him to take the job of doing all the chores and the rest sitting around waiting for something to happen.
That’s not how Ara worked either.
Then again, none of this situation was how she worked.
This ‘team’ was different, and who could blame her after fighting on her own for so long.
Too long honestly.
“We could…maybe…go to school? College is it? We would blend in with the humans and it wouldn’t be abnormal to switch or leave.” She shrugged her eyes on Dorian for a moment.
“Sleep? Umm…looks like a couch, a chair, the floor, and well the bed should be for Takei…”
She honestly didn’t care where she landed, the floor wouldn’t bother her that much either considering she would probably stay up all night anyway.
Stupid phobia of the dark.
Seth tilted his head to the side in comtempliation. Quit his job? Go to college? Seth shuddered, thinking about his days in school back on Rebmevon. It was horrible, it had always been. The roomate, the classes, the teachers, and oh god the food. Seth was never good at anything, so he had failed about almost of all his classes. All except for Home Ec., that he was okay at, and same with English. But nobody had liked him at all, he had been so lonely, not that he hadn't always been lonely. It really was just the same, wasn't it? Seth never had any friends, so it had just been the same. But now, with his new friends, maybe that could change. Wouldn't that be nice?
But his job...Well, that didn't really matter. All Seth did was sell the flowers he grew and garden other people's houses. It made a good enough profit to get off of, nothing special, but enough. Seth sighed, realizing he would have to phone all of those people and tell them that he wasn't going to come by their houses anymore.
Turning to Takei, he gave him a worried look, hoping to get him to talk to him through this glance. But the fellow Rebmevon was currently preocupied, so Seth gave another frusterated sigh. Well, he couldn't always depend on Takei, maybe he should try comunicating with the others. Walking over to the one called Dorian, he smiled at him and bowed as he usually did to people he just met.
"Um, I think we've introduced each other before. But I don't really know much about you, Mr. Dorian. How did you get into this mess anyway?"
Yes, he had called the fellow 'Mr.'Dorian. Hey, it was polite. And that was all Seth really cared about.
Dorian blinked at Ara's suggestion, immediatly shaking his head. "I don't know if that's a good idea, Ara. Wouldn't the college, I don't know, take pictures of us or something? Even if we use different names, the Rekarts might see our pictures or something... or something will go wrong, it always happens in these human movies anyway. Maybe we should quit our jobs, but I think that going to college might be bad..."
Dorian sighed, closing his eyes for a bit and taking in a deep breath. Sure, he wouldn't mind going to a college, but he had a horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach that it wouldn't be the smartest idea in the world. He quickly decided to change the subject, looking over to Thius. "That might be a good idea, since I don't think all of us could fit... I guess I could stay here, seeing that it might be annoying to drag me back and forth between places," he stated. The more he spoke, the he felt like being a bit of a leader... how excellent... The last thing Dorian wanted was to be the leader, it'd be too much pressure. Besides, he was powerless and paralyzed for god knows how long... how could he lead in the first place?
He had quickly jerked out of his trance when he heard the feminine voice next to him, only to find Seth next to him. He couldn't help but to laugh at the boy's politeness; he'd found it cute. "Please, you don't have to call me Mr. Dorian. Just call me Dorian, no formalities here," he said. "And it was just the Government's fault I'm like this, don't think about it too much, alright?" he asked the small boy. In truth, he didn't really want to go over that moment again... with stupid Dante... Dorian's eyes narrowed to slits as he remembered that cruel smile of his...
That bastard would pay with his life, Dorian would promise that.
A tiresome gaze was on the man's face, lips parted slightly as he inhales and sighs. A bothersome rubble occurred in the pits of his stomach, he hadn't had anything to eat in the last couple of hours. His hungry slowly arises and made itself present, through the exhaustion Thius seemed to be.
Shifting his eyes to Takei he questions,
"Paying for all of us to eat and such?"
Again his gaze lingers off to the others, as if counting the people present in the room,
"I can't just let you pay for our food and other expenses alone."
Thius admired the boy for stepping up and kind of taking command of the situation, but still the thought of him doing it alone didn't strike his as fair.
Thinking about it for a moment, it reminded Thius of his old life back when he was a adolescent boy of twelve and still lived with his parents. His father was the only one that worked, and even with his salary budgets were kind of tight to support him and his mother.
"If you don't mind, I can help with the expenses as well, since I've decided that I'm going to stick with my job. Especially if the others decide to quite their jobs."
Thius said with a smile as he tries to shake off the memories in his head. Yet the thought made him rather sad and made him wonder about where they were at that moment. It also made him wonder if they were dead. His dear friend came to mind, at the same time so did the memory of the crazy shenanigans they did to try and raise money.
I'll won't forget you,
He thought as a smile curls up onto his lips, it was best that this time his memories made him smile rather then break down and run out of the room. Since it would been rather embarrassing to explain to the others later.
Finally his mind completely blanked off of the past and he turns to Ara and responds,
"College again? Ahahaa, I do say.. it was nice year while it lasted. Besides, I'm not really a fan of schoolwork. But I wouldn't mind going back.. I wouldn't mind at all, especially going into the men's locker ro~ I mean the food...erm.. cafeteria. Yes the cafeteria was good... it had food."
Thius attempts to cover up what he was about to finish saying, and smiles rather nervously as his cheeks begin to gain a couple shades of pink. But it was true, upon arriving earth almost a year ago Thius did attend college for the spring semester and attended the summer courses. However once a job as an illustrator on a team of graphic designers was knocking at his dorm room dorm, he quickly finished the summer program and took the offer up.
Thius was still turning about what he said, and gazes down at the ground as his mind fills with the dirty little fantasies that he thought up of every time in the locker rooms.
Maybe no one heard that last part. Yea, no one heard it.. so act normal you brainless fucktard!
The man thought to himself as his pale light bluish grey eyes glance up a little. Quickly he pushed up on the rim of his glasses adjusting them properly. Trying to avoid any further questions, Thius turns to face Dorian and quickly said with nervous laugher,
"Ah right you still can't move. Erm yea. Ahaha.. dragging you around... I'm shutting up now and I need a breather."
He said as he turned and briskly began to walk toward the door, he thought that fresh air would do good to his uneasiness. However he wasn't really paying attention and walks right into the door, bounces off of it, stumbles back and lands on his bottom. Blinking dumbfoundedly and disorientated, Thius sighs as his head lowers in embarrassment.
Smooth one.. that was filled with all kinds of fail. Way to go you fucking imbecile!!
He thought to himself as he smacks his forehead with his right palm.
"I'm an idiot,"
He mutters as his eyes gaze up at the door. To not see that one coming reminded Thius of what his friend called it every time he bumps or walks into something or someone.
'My my, Melanthius... having a 'Melon Moment' again?'
His friend's words echoed through his mind, Thius couldn't help but smiling. Completely forgetting that he was still in the room, he responds out-loud admitting,
"Yes, I'm having a Melon moment."
Only to end it with a rather loud growl coming from his stomach.
After getting off of the phone, Takei glanced over to the other rebmevon.
“We don’t have high school degrees. Nor do we have our GEDs.”
He was quick to point this out, along with the other times.
He was such a fun spoiler.
He nodded agreeably to the mentis, Dorian.
The red-head glanced toward Dorian.
“Thank you. You can if you want, I don’t really care.”
There, he went again, using the ‘I don’t give a shit what you do’ speech.
Watching as Thius stumbled toward Dorian, he grinned amusedly.
This guy was amazing.
Flopping onto the couch, he leaned his head forward, rubbing it.
Raising his head again, he smiled in a juvenile way.
“I don’t have to sleep in the bed. Dorian, you can sleep in my bed tonight, okay? Since you’re hurt, ya know?”
He poked his fingers together, watching Dorian and Thius work their way across the room.
“Is anyone hungry? I always buy too much food at the grocery store, and end up getting takeout for dinner.”, he murmered, as he began to fix his snow cap, which had a skull on it, and black hearts at the end of the flaps.
He always got cold easily, explaining why he wore a sweater which was a bit big for him(especially the sleeves), and jeans.
College, jobs, money, and life.
Wasn’t it supposed to be easier than this?
Ara sighed, for a human.
‘Cause lets just throw in being chased and undercover for eternity.
That’ll make it interesting.
Takei was right as well.
As much as she hated it, he was.
How where they supposed to go to college if they didn’t have any other education?
And she was sure they weren’t going to accept different planet schooling.
She caught a glimpse of Dorian, his eyes screaming anger.
Ara wanted to ask him what was up, but didn't want to fuel the fire. So instead she turned her attention back to Takei.
“Food sounds delicious.” She said changing the subject, holding her own stomach as it growled. The last thing she had to eat was breakfast this morning, and how many hours ago was that? Eggs didn’t last long enough.
Making her way to the kitchen she rummaged through the cabinets before discovering cereal.
“Eureka!” She said happily pouring herself a bowl and returning back to the group. “Thius, are you okay?” She said, just catching the fall.
Amazing how so many things could happen in such little time.
And she wasn’t just thinking about Thius falling.
As Seth was talking to his new found friend Dorian, he overheard his first friend Takei talking about going shopping. Yes, maybe this was the little water elemental's chance to finally help out in someway! Rushing over to Takei, Seth bounced up and down filled with overflowing energy, a smile plastered on his face.
"Ah! Takei, may I come with you? I can carry the bags and pay! Okay? I really want to help!"
He only just wished that his friend would comply, knowing how moody he was. But even so, who would turn down help? Everyone wanted some help at least, so it was out of the question. After all, nothing would go wrong. Well, at least that was what Seth hoped.
Shaking the pesimistic thoughts out of his head, Seth gave Takei a puppy dog face in hopes to persuade him. That always worked for some reason, maybe his innocence and cute antics helped that way. Not that Seth thought so highly of himself, but he wasn't that dense, as dense as he was. And hey, if anything went wrong Seth would just have to fight for once. He was a damned Rebmevon with powers, he could do what he wanted! Right?...
Wrong. Seth was just such a coward. He couldn't fight for his life, much less his friend's life to begin with...
As Dorian heard the small thump, he turned his attention over to Thius, and a smile formed on his lips. His eyes went back to their normal size, forgetting about Dante for now and only thinking about this small group. The little rebellion group. "So then college is out of the question, right? Alrighty... then let's see, what else do we do? Just hide and pray that the Rekarts don't find us? Maybe... maybe we have to move away. Away from this place, there are probably some of our kind all over the place; we can't be the only ones, right?" he asked.
He sighed yet again, realizing that his leg was a bit itchy. Oh, how badly he wanted to get to that itch and just fucking scratch his damned leg! His arm moved only centimeters, no where close to where it needed to be. He groaned, looking up towards the ceiling in annoyance. "This isn't fair," he whined. "It really just isn't fair, how long are the effects going to last?!" He needed to get out of the situation, and not be held down by this stupid serum!
The painter looked over to Ara now, watching as she ate her cereal. Dorian had always hated this cereal, so he was happy when Seth said that he'd go with Mail to shop. "Maybe you can get some food that doesn't require much cutting or something like that... I'd hate to have to be hand-fed," he said. He smiled to Seth, knowing that the boy would probably try too hard to get something; he seemed like that kind of guy anyway. But who knew that; for al he knew, Seth could be too weak to do anything, or stronger than he looks.
Well, there was one way to figure that out.
Still looking at Seth, he tried to search his memory, seeing if he could see anything at all. And... there it was! It was only just a few, but a few memories from Seth had came to Dorian quickly. Dorian didn't even bother to thoroughly pay attention to his memories; his powers were coming back! "Yes!" he cried out in victory, a large grin on his face. "Yes, yes, ye--OH GODS!" Without meaning too, Dorian had rocked himself a bit, falling right off the couch and onto the floor like Thius had just moments before. "Ouch," he said quietly.
There was still hope for this Mentis, thank god.
